Texas for Ecuador

Last night, the students at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX, held a vigil for all the victims of the earthquake, and it was an opportunity for students from all over Latin America and the U.S. to come together for the same cause.

If you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past week, then you haven’t heard that a 7.8 earthquake struck Ecuador’s coastline on Saturday. The death toll is currently nearing 600 deaths, but there’s the chance this number will keep on growing as rescue teams search the province of Manabi, the most affected  by the earthquake and its aftershocks. Even a week later, the country is still experiencing aftershocks. Last night, there was a 6.0 magnitude aftershock.

Many families have lost everything, and we can make a difference and help these people who need our help today. Please help by donating to the gofundme page: https://www.gofundme.com/6czsam3z that has been set up by Ecuadorian student studying in Texas. This money will be used for the purchase of medical aid kits, tents for shelter, water, canned food, non-perishables and clothes.
